The ventilator rehabilitation unit is located in the Johns Hopkins Bayview Care Center. A dedicated and compassionate staff care for patients with respiratory and neurological conditions. They work to provide respiratory care management, long-term ventilatory support and a specialized weaning program to allow patients to breathe comfortably on their own.

Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team of highly trained health care professionals who develop and individualize treatment plans with input from patients and their families. The team includes:

• Internal medicine and geriatric medicine physicians
• Pulmonary medicine specialists
• Respiratory therapists
• Nursing staff
• Physical, occupational and speech therapists
• Social workers

A host of continuing education opportunities are available to staff, including conference opportunities, certification exam preparation and many more.
