The Lakeside Medical Unit provides comprehensive, interdisciplinary team-based inpatient care to older adults with complex medical needs as well as psychiatric conditions or behavioral symptoms. An interdisciplinary medical and psychiatric team provides unique care for patients, aged 55 and older, with a primary medical conditions such as diabetes, dementia, delirium, heart disease or renal disease, as well as co-existing secondary mental health needs, such as depression, cognitive decline, anxiety, irritability and agitation, hallucinations or anorexia.
