Critical care nurses at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to care for patients who require very close monitoring. Nurses have the chance to work in a variety of intensive care units (ICUs), including:

• Burn ICU
• Neuro ICU
• Cardiac ICU
• Surgical ICU
• Neonatal ICU
• Medical ICU  

Although critical care can be demanding, determined and motivated new grads find this area to be exciting and fulfilling, with abundant training and mentoring programs available.
