Conditions treated at the John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center’s burn ICU include acute burn injuries (flame, scald, electrical and chemical injuries), late effects of burn injuries and wounds. In combination with the pediatric burn unit located at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, the adult burn unit at Johns Hopkins Bayview has a reputation as one of the top-rated programs of its kind in the nation. The complex nature of burns and their resulting physical and psychological effects require treatment from a multidisciplinary team of experts. Our nurses enjoy the opportunity to work within this team. Patient population: burn and dermatological patients Number of beds: 10 Nurse/patient ratio: 1:2 for critical care patients, 1:4 for intermediate care patients Rotation/shifts: - Day/night, once per pay period (subject to change)
