February 16, 2011 Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center’s Diversity Council was recently named one of the Top 25 diversity councils in the U.S. by the Association of Diversity Councils. The 2011 Diversity Council Honors Awards recognize groups that lead diversity processes in their organizations and demonstrate results in their workforce, workplace and marketplace. This tremendous honor is the result of a lot of hard work by council members and the greater Hopkins Bayview community. The Diversity Council has recently overseen a number of successful efforts, including a Disabilities Awareness Expo to promote awareness and encourage recruiting of individuals with disabilities; a formal mentorship program to help increase diversity in key leadership positions; and a learning program, “Managing Diversity and Building an Inclusive Workplace,” designed specifically for Medical Center managers. The Diversity Council will be recognized at a special awards ceremony on April 5 in Atlanta, Ga. |
