The department of clinical nutrition at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center provides nutrition services to all areas of the campus. We offer career opportunities to a diverse range of nutrition professionals, including clinical dietitians, clinical dietitian specialists, senior clinical dietitians and others working in the areas of acute and critical care, nutrition support, outpatient counseling and diabetes education. Our department offers comprehensive nutritional assessment, intervention and education to patients and families of patients admitted to the hospital, the Johns Hopkins Bayview Care Center, and those who visit our outpatient facilities. Dietitians work closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care.
The clinical staff of the department of clinical nutrition consists of registered and licensed dietitians, who are members of the American Dietetic Association, the Maryland Dietetic Association, and many other professional organizations. Many have advanced certifications in such areas as diabetes education and nutritional support.
